Today, November 12, one of the boiler houses in Odesa had to stop its operations for six hours due to chimney reconstruction.
After the previous heating season ended, the KP "TMO" company initiated a comprehensive inspection of all chimneys. In June, a conclusion was made that one chimney required urgent repair work — at the "North-1" site.
According to Odesa's Deputy Mayor Hanna Pozdnyakova, similar work has not been carried out in the country, given the height of the chimney (120 meters). A crane with a capacity of 600 tons was ordered for the work, and the crane itself weighs 970 tons.
There are only a few such cranes in Ukraine, and they are utilized for restoration work on energy facilities damaged by shelling.
"According to the schedule, the crane was supposed to be on the KP 'TMO' site back in August, but due to circumstances beyond our control, the timelines were significantly pushed back — the equipment was engaged in other critical tasks. Additionally, such a level of work requires highly qualified specialists, and their availability has also proven to be a challenge in our reality. We are working considering the circumstances that we cannot influence," said Hanna Pozdnyakova.
KP 'TMO' apologizes for the temporary inconveniences and emphasizes that they are doing everything possible to ensure a stable heating supply for Odesa residents throughout the heating season.
