On November 27, 2024, Deputy Mayor of Odessa, Pavlo Vugelman, held a working meeting with Audrey Lecomte, head of the UNICEF office in Ukraine.
During the meeting, a new project titled «Family Support - A Path to the Future: Reforming Child Care in the Odessa and Mykolaiv Regions» was presented, implemented in partnership with the local government.
The project aims to develop alternative forms of upbringing and create conditions for children to remain in their families.
Special attention is given to integrated services that will support not only children but also their families in difficult situations.
«We are grateful to our partners at UNICEF for this important project, which will create new opportunities to support families in the region. Together, we are working to ensure that every child has the right to grow up in a loving and caring household,» emphasized Pavlo Vugelman.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of a working group to coordinate the implementation of the project.
The implementation of this initiative will be a significant step toward strengthening families and ensuring the welfare of children in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions.
