In the Odesa region, a farewell ceremony was held for Captain Vladislav Ilchuk, who died in combat on February 22, 2025. The Bolhrad City Council noted that he defended his homeland from the very first days of the war.
On March 2, in the village of Tabaky, the community paid their respects to the commander of a mechanized battalion, Vladislav Ilchuk. Before the war, he lived with his family in Bakhmut, but they were forced to relocate to the Odesa region due to the destruction of their hometown by enemy forces.
"After intense battles in Bakhmut, the officer's family had to leave their hometown and move to the Bolhrad community. Here, they tried to build a new life, hoping for peace and the return of their Hero. However, the enemy shattered those hopes, leaving the family without a husband, son, and father.
The body of the fallen defender was carried through a living corridor created by community members to honor Vladislav's heroism. At the cemetery, where he was laid to rest alongside other fallen soldiers, the widow was presented with the state flag of Ukraine as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance," emphasized the Bolhrad community.
