Illegal Shrimp Fishing Discovered in Tiligul Estuary

On April 3, 2025, a joint raid by environmental inspectors and border guards took place in the «Tiligul» National Park, near the village of Tanivka. This was reported by the South-Western Regional Environmental Inspection.

During the inspection of the Tiligul Estuary, 13 abandoned shrimp nets totaling 11 meters in length were discovered. The illegal fishing gear was confiscated. Thanks to these timely actions, 3 kg of shrimp, 2 kg of goatfish, and 2 kg of atherina were returned to the ecosystem.

Conservationists urge citizens to take an active role and report instances of poaching to help preserve the unique nature of Odessa.
