Last year, it was announced that filming for the biographical drama titled «Odessa: The End and The Beginning» is underway. This is the first artistic film that narrates the life of a Ukrainian director who lived and worked in Odessa from 1926 to 1929.

The next phase of production will take place in April and May of this year, as reported by the Odessa Film Studio.

Filming will occur on the streets of Odessa, at the locations of the Odessa Film Studio, and also in Kyiv.

«This film is a tribute to Odessa in 1926, which served as a hub for literature, cinema, and arts; a dedication to a city that recovered from the impacts of World War I and the Civil War; Odessa, which thrives under the NEP, showcasing resilience and vitality, a city captivated by cinema, poetry, jazz, and boxing…», – stated on the Odessa Film Studio's page.

Andriy Osipov, the director of the Odessa Film Studio, noted that the studio ended the previous year with a profit and is currently a stable enterprise. Therefore, they are not only continuing to shoot a unique historical film about Dovzhenko but are also working on new projects.
