New Modular Toilets for People with Disabilities to be Installed in Odessa

In Odessa, automatic modular toilets designed for people with disabilities are set to be established. This initiative was discussed during a Barrier-Free Council meeting chaired by the city's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov.

In response to the request from the Barrier-Free Council's expert group, the Department of Urban Economy has preliminarily studied the implementation of such facilities in Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv.

During the meeting, a module consisting of two cabins was presented: one is spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair user or a mother with a stroller. The metal anti-corrosion cabin is equipped with an automatic cleaning function, motion sensors for each function, as well as an automatic unlocking system after 15 minutes. It also features a call button for an operator and a module for cashless payment.

The proposal to install such automatic modular toilets in Soborna Square, in the City Garden, on Primorsky Boulevard, and on Ukrainian Heroes Avenue will be put forward at the Odessa City Council session.
