President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously honored F-16 pilot Pavlo Ivanov by awarding him the title of Hero of Ukraine.

Quote: "For personal courage and heroism displayed in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, I decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the "Golden Star" upon Major Pavlo Ivanov (posthumously)."

Background: On April 12, during a combat mission on an F-16 aircraft, 26-year-old pilot Pavlo Ivanov lost his life.

Zelensky noted that he had received reports from military officials regarding the combat situation, and all circumstances of the event are being clarified.
