Zelensky Reports 2935 Violations of Ceasefire

After the report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian forces violated the "Easter ceasefire" 2935 times. He emphasized that Ukraine's response will be "mirror-like" to the actions of the aggressor.

Direct quote from Zelensky: "The total number of violations by the Russian army of its own promise of silence for this day is 2935".

Details: Zelensky noted that the most shelling and assault actions occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.

The President added that "the Russian promise of complete silence was also not upheld in the Kursk direction".

According to Zelensky, there were a total of 96 Russian assault actions, 1882 shellings of Ukrainian positions, including 812 from heavy weapons, and more than 950 uses of Russian FPV drones.

Direct quote from Zelensky: "On this day, Moscow lacked the resolve to respond both to the proposal for a complete ceasefire for the next 30 days after Easter and to the proposal to at least maintain silence in the skies regarding civilian infrastructure and refrain from missile and drone strikes.

The nature of Ukraine's actions will continue to be mirror-like: we will respond to silence with silence, and our strikes will be in defense against Russian blows. Actions always speak louder than words".

Background: On the evening of April 19, Zelensky stated that the Russian "Easter ceasefire" does not extend to the Kursk and Belgorod regions of Russia, and that shelling did not cease in parts of other frontline directions.

Zelensky offers Russia to extend the ban on long-range strikes for 30 days, as there were no air alerts during the so-called "Easter ceasefire" despite numerous violations by the RF on the front.

Background:

  • The Kremlin stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin had not given orders to continue the so-called "Easter ceasefire," which the Russians had not adhered to anyway, after midnight on April 21.
