Military and Volunteers Unite for Blood Donation in Odesa

As part of the «Donor Odesa» initiative, military personnel from the State Border Guard Service's Maritime Guard organized a collective blood donation event.

The joint efforts of the military and volunteers will help save numerous lives, which is critically important in the current context, where the demand for blood donations remains high due to the ongoing war.

«We know how essential it is to have blood reserves. In wartime, this is a priceless resource that can save the lives of our comrades, injured civilians, and anyone in urgent need of medical assistance,» say the border guards who contributed to the city's blood bank.

This is not the first time military personnel have participated in such initiatives – they believe that aid should be ongoing, not a one-time event.

Today, blood donation serves as another line of defense for Ukraine.

The event was part of the city charity project «Weeks of Good Deeds».

The photographs were taken by Boris Buhman, an Honorary Donor.

The «Donor Odesa» project has been actively engaging blood donors for medical institutions in the city since the beginning of the full-scale war, as well as organizing educational and cultural events aimed at promoting blood donation. During this time, the project has facilitated over 12,000 blood donations, saving thousands of lives.

It is crucial that everyone who is able to donate blood for health reasons participates in blood donation.
