Heavy rain and gusty winds have damaged electrical networks in 30 localities of the Odesa region. Power restoration is promised by the end of the day.

This was reported by DTEK Odesa electrical networks and NEC «Ukrenergo».

Energy workers are already addressing the emergency situations across all affected areas in Odesa.

Moreover, «Ukrenergo» noted an increase in electricity consumption over the past three days. This is attributed to overcast weather with precipitation across a significant part of Ukraine, reducing the efficiency of residential solar power plants and leading to increased consumption from the general network.

Yesterday, May 8, the daily peak consumption was recorded in the evening, matching the peak from the previous day — May 7.

«Ukrenergo» also urged consumers to use electricity sparingly and to shift the use of heavy appliances to nighttime hours. Where possible, they advise against using multiple devices simultaneously until 10:00 PM.
