Restoration of Historic Doors in Odessa

In the heart of Odessa, at 12 Kinna Street, the team from the social project «Thousand Doors of Odessa» has successfully restored the original oak doors of the Lamzaki building.

This building was constructed in 1912 based on the design by architect Alexander Goltzvurm, as reported by the project team.

What was restored

During the restoration process, specialists removed multiple layers of old paint from the wooden doors, followed by treatment with stain and oil. The craftsmen also replaced lost elements, including heels, stop bars, and the capital of the transom.

In addition to decorative restoration, the glass in the doors was replaced, significantly improving the lighting in the entrance. The doors now also close with an automatic closer, while modern electric mortise locks ensure security.
