In Odesa, the inspection of rented beach areas continues to ensure compliance with operational standards, sanitary conditions, and unrestricted access for citizens.
Following the mayor's order, a working group has been established, consisting of representatives from the city government, the Barrier-Free Council, and veterans.
The aim of this group is to assess the level of accessibility, inclusivity, and free access to beaches.
On August 22, the group inspected the beaches in the Kyiv district. Members of the working group checked whether 30% of the rented area was available for free use; whether there were illegal barriers or structures obstructing access; whether sanitary standards were adhered to; whether conditions were established for people with disabilities; and whether there was free passage along the water's edge and between beach areas.
During the inspection, violations were found, including the placement of sun loungers near the water, obstructing passage, and illegal temporary structures on the promenades. Renters received orders for immediate rectification of the deficiencies.
Based on the inspection results, consolidated proposals will be prepared to improve beach accessibility in the upcoming recreational season.
