Today, Ukraine honors the memories of those who fell victim to the horrific tragedy at Babyn Yar. This site stands as a symbol of immense sorrow and brutality, where Nazis executed thousands of individuals - Jews, Ukrainians, and Roma.
The Babyn Yar tragedy represents not just a chapter in history but a crucial reminder of the terrible cost of hatred and intolerance. By remembering the deceased, we proclaim ‘never again’ and reaffirm our collective commitment: such horrors must not be repeated.
Odesa, alongside the entire nation, bows its head in memory of the innocently slain.
In connection with the anniversary, a memorial ceremony was held in Prokhorivskyi Square in Odesa, where flowers were laid at the memorial for Holocaust victims and ghetto prisoners.
May their memory shine brightly for all who perished at Babyn Yar.
