The municipal enterprise «City Roads» in Odesa consistently maintains the drainage systems to ensure proper rainwater management from the streets.
Currently, workers are focusing on the Romanian Canal. Previous works were carried out on the Kuyalnik and Schelaki canals, as well as at the Buffer Pond.
These structures - Buffer Pond, Romanian Canal, and Kuyalnik canals - are designed to effectively drain stormwater, rainwater, and meltwater from city streets.
Using specialized equipment, the workers clear the channels and ponds of vegetation, debris, and silt. Special attention is given to the most silted areas, particularly where drains from residential houses in the private sector are located.
Regular cleaning of storm drains and sewer collectors throughout the city is also performed. Heavy machinery from «City Roads» is involved in cleaning canals and flushing collectors, including excavators, graders, MAZ trucks, and high-pressure hydraulic units based on MAN trucks for flushing bypass pipes.
In the event of heavy rainfall, these tasks are carried out on an urgent basis.
