Psychologist Arrested for Corruption

Authorities have arrested a woman who promised to resolve military personnel issues for a bribe. Investigators have informed her of the charges, and the court has chosen a preventive measure. She faces up to eight years in prison with asset confiscation.
The 41-year-old resident of the Odesa region, working as a psychologist in a military unit, was found to be offering influence over officials for money.
Specifically, she promised to resolve the transfer of a soldier from the front lines to a unit in Odesa for $4000. She claimed that after receiving the money, the soldier would be able to serve in the rear.
The arrest occurred at her home after she received the bribe in two installments. Law enforcement seized the cash and documents pertinent to the investigation.
Senior investigator Valentina Zdorova stated that the suspect has been charged with corruption. According to the law, she faces a maximum punishment of eight years in prison. The court decided to remand her in custody with the possibility of bail set at 832,000 UAH.
The investigation is ongoing, and all circumstances of the crime and potential accomplices are being established.
