Innovative Youth Achievements at Science Skills Booster 2025

To celebrate World Science Day, the State University of Intellectual Technologies and Communication (SUITT) hosted the second competition-exhibition of youth scientific and technical creativity called Science Skills Booster 2025.

The event featured both individual participants and teams, held in a hybrid format—both in-person and online. The preliminary stage took place throughout May, with the finals held on May 17.

Among the best projects were those presented by students from Odesa Lyceums No. 49, 62, 72, 121, 122, as well as students from the Vocational College of Communication and Informatization at SUITT.

Participants showcased a variety of projects, including computer games, alternative messengers, innovative devices, and technical solutions for education. Notable projects included the “Safe Home” system, a smart solar panel with automatic orientation, and a power supply made from household items capable of functioning during a blackout.

The winners of the Science Skills Booster 2025 competition were:

Grand Prix (a cash prize of 8,000 UAH from the general sponsor—Ukrainian ISOC branch) was awarded to the “LUX” team from Odesa Lyceum No. 62 for their innovative smart solar panel design.

1st place went to the project “ProtoFlex – a utility for assigning individual VPN connections to specific applications” (author – Anatoliy Lakaryov, 11th-grade student at Odesa Lyceum “Mariinsky”, scientific supervisors – informatics teachers Iryna Buz and Olena Lohina).

2nd place was shared by the project “Pinger – a messenger for secure communication and data transfer” (author – Mykhailo Fasyola, 8th-grade student at Odesa Lyceum “Mariinsky”, scientific supervisors – informatics teachers Iryna Buz and Olena Lohina) and the development of “An Interactive Platform for Teaching Programming Using Docker Containerization” (author – Bohdan Popravka, 9th-grade student at Odesa Lyceum No. 72, scientific supervisor – informatics teacher Olena Kravchuk).
Winners received cash prizes from SUITT.

“Today we were once again convinced that our youth has a clear vision for the future, is ready to work for the prosperity of the country, and impresses with innovative ideas,” concluded Yuriy Kargapolov, head of the board of the Ukrainian ISOC branch.
