On October 29, 2025, medical professionals gathered in Odesa for a seminar focused on the latest advancements in breast and lung cancer therapy.
The event was organized with the support of the Odesa Department of Health and professional associations dedicated to evidence-based medicine.
Participants addressed the significance of early diagnosis of cancer, innovative technologies in lung cancer diagnostics, treatment organization, and support for cancer patients and their families.
Last year, over 47,000 cancer patients were registered in Odesa, including 168 children. This highlights the crucial need for prevention and early detection.
The Department of Health has initiated the «Odesa Against Cancer» project, aimed at improving access to treatment and promoting preventive measures among the population.
Weekly preventive screenings have been implemented to enhance public access to cancer screenings for early detection.
In the first half of 2025, more than 30,000 preventive examinations were conducted in Odesa's healthcare facilities, including over 15,500 cancer screenings, leading to 300 new suspicions of oncological pathology.
Experts have developed patient roadmaps for timely prevention and early detection of cancer, available via QR codes.
Information posters have been placed at bus stops and through city advertising to disseminate information about early diagnosis opportunities among Odesa residents.
