The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has submitted a case to court regarding the treason of a medical worker from a healthcare institution in the region.
It has been established that the accused voluntarily assisted Russian intelligence services in subversive activities against Ukraine. In exchange for his "services," he hoped to secure a leadership position in the occupation administration if the area were captured.
The individual provided the aggressor with information on the deployment of personnel from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, State Border Guard Service, and Marine Guard in the Izmail district.
Another task was to monitor the arrival of vessels at the local port and the types of cargo they were transporting.
This information was used by the occupiers to prepare new strikes in the region.
Specific details about the whereabouts of Ukrainian defenders and military infrastructure objects were transmitted to an FSB officer of the Russian Federation via a messaging app.
The agent was apprehended in August 2024, and during a search, a mobile phone containing evidence of criminal activity was seized.
Currently, at the request of the prosecution, he is in custody.
The preliminary investigation was carried out by the SBU in the Odesa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
