Illegal Export of Agricultural Goods: Investigation Details

During the investigation, it was found that the individuals attempted to export goods with undocumented origins by utilizing supply chains involving fictitious companies.

An Odesa agritrader has reimbursed over 14.5 million hryvnias in unpaid taxes related to the illegal export of soybeans. This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Odesa region. It has been established that the suspects used forged documents to create the appearance of legitimate business transactions, attempting to export 7,500 tons of soybeans to Turkey and Romania. Detectives noted that the accused were trying to carry out the export of goods with undocumented origins in collaboration with fictitious companies. As a result of these actions, the agritrader failed to pay 14.5 million hryvnias in taxes, which is considered a significant amount. During searches at the Odesa port and grain terminals in the Chernivtsi region, more than 6,000 tons of soybeans, ready for shipment, and 1,600 tons of soy in 32 railway cars were seized. The total value of the seized products exceeds 103 million hryvnias. It is worth noting that the company has voluntarily reimbursed the unpaid taxes, and the funds have already been transferred to the budget. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, aiming to identify all individuals involved in the criminal activities.

Earlier reports indicated that an Odesa court ordered a foreigner who was counterfeiting branded clothing to pay over half a million hryvnias in fines and compensation.
