On November 22-23, the Ukrainian Judo Championship for younger cadets under 17 years old was held in Uzhhorod.

Over two days, nearly 600 athletes from 23 regions of Ukraine competed for 17 sets of medals at the Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum sports complex.

The team from Odesa, consisting of athletes from Sports Schools No. 4 and No. 15, as well as the regional Judo and Rugby Sports School, took third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

The champions were representatives from Kyiv (5-4-4), while the Dnipropetrovsk team secured the second position (3-1-5).

Significant contributions to the team’s medal tally were made by Odesa athletes – Valeriya Kanikivska (70 kg) and Kyrylo Vasylinych (73 kg) from Sports School No. 4, who won silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The athletes were coached by Serhiy Yermakov.
