Today, June 18, the Ukrainian women's 3x3 basketball team kicked off their participation in the second stage of the Women's Series taking place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The first opponents for the Ukrainian players were the German team, who put up a strong fight. However, the Ukrainian athletes proved to be more successful.
The Germans took an early lead, establishing a +4 point advantage. Despite their solid performance in both defense and offense, the Ukrainians gradually closed the gap.
Angelika Lyashko made the winning shot with a foul, successfully converting free throws with 20 seconds left, giving Ukraine its first lead in the match (15:13).
In the remaining time, Germany attempted to come back, but an airball and a steal by Miriam Uro-Nile secured the victory for the Ukrainian team.

As a reminder, today, June 18, the Ukrainians will play their second match of the group stage against the basketball players from Singapore. This game will start at 13:20 Kyiv time.
It is worth noting that at 11:30 Germany will face Singapore. A loss for the German team will guarantee Ukraine a spot in the playoff of the Women's 3x3 Series, while a victory for Ukraine in the second match will allow them to advance to the playoffs from the first position.
