Yarmolenko Announces Retirement in 2026

Legendary player of Dynamo Kyiv, Andriy Yarmolenko, announced that he plans to end his professional career after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Yarmolenko shared this information during an interview with the YouTube channel "Football News Center".

"I spoke with the head coach and the president of the club. It was important for me to hear that I am valued as a player. I do not want to stay in the club due to past achievements. After talking to the coach and the president, I realized that they have great expectations from me, which is why I signed a new contract for another year. Will this be my last contract? I am confident that this will be my final year as a footballer," said Yarmolenko.

Yarmolenko is a product of Chernihiv football. He played 393 matches for Dynamo across all competitions and scored 157 goals, placing him third in the club's history. Only Serhiy Rebrov (163 goals) and Oleg Blokhin (265) are ahead of him. He has also played abroad for Borussia Dortmund, Al Ain, and West Ham.

Additionally, he is a legend of the Ukrainian national team. Yarmolenko has 125 appearances and 46 goals. In both categories, he ranks second in history; however, excluding the traitor Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Yarmolenko holds the record for the most matches played for the national team.
