Recently, the 2025/2026 Ukrainian Hockey Championship has commenced. This season, five teams are competing in the national league, two of which are from Kyiv. Here’s the list of participants:
- HC «Kremenchuk» (Kremenchuk, Poltava region)
- HC «Sokil» (Kyiv)
- HC «Kryzhynka-Capitals» (Kyiv)
- HC «Storm» (Odesa)
- HC «Odeshchyna» (Odesa)
Compared to the previous season, there are some changes. Unfortunately, the Kherson team «Dnipro» is not participating this time, but a new team has emerged — HC «Odeshchyna». Interestingly, the vice-champion from Kyiv, the club «Kyiv Capitals», has entered the Baltic Hockey League with their main team, leaving their farm club «Kryzhynka-Capitals» in the Ukrainian Championship, which consists of young players and those not making the first team.
Kyiv’s «Sokil» played their first match against «Storm» from Odesa and achieved a comeback victory, despite trailing by two goals at one point in the game.
«SOKIL» — «STORM» — 3:2 (0:1, 1:1, 2:0)
«KREMENCHUK» — «KRYZHYNKA-CAPITALS» — 6:1 (4:0; 0:1; 2:0)
The «Kryzhynka-Capitals» will face «Storm» in their next match on Wednesday, October 15. «Sokil» will meet «Odeshchyna» the following day.
