Meta has announced the launch of an innovative voice dubbing feature for Reels videos. This technology employs artificial intelligence to transform user voices with precise lip-syncing.
To use this feature, users must select the option "Translate your voice using Meta AI" before publishing their video. The tool then generates a translated audio track that preserves the original voice's intonation. Users can also enable lip-syncing with the translated audio.
Before publishing, creators can preview the final result and decide whether to include synchronization. Videos featuring translation will display a message about the use of AI.
This feature is currently available for Facebook creators with over 1,000 followers, as well as for all users with public Instagram accounts. Meta recommends using this tool in videos where there is direct address to the camera, without excessive background music or mouth closure. The system supports up to two speakers, but the company advises against overlapping voices.
Meta positions this new feature as a means to expand the content audience beyond the creator’s native language. An effectiveness tool for translation has also been introduced.
At launch, the translation feature is available only for English and Spanish, but the company plans to expand language support in the future.
