Innovative Virtual Reality Solutions from Microsoft

Microsoft has officially unveiled a new technology called Mixed Reality Link. This system turns Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets into virtual screens for Windows 11. Previously, this feature was only available to beta testers, but it is now gradually being rolled out to all users.
Mixed Reality Link creates a virtual workspace where users can enjoy multiple high-quality displays that simulate real monitors. To use this feature, one needs to install the Mixed Reality Link client on a Windows 11 computer and connect the Meta Quest headset.
The service also supports various Microsoft cloud solutions, such as Windows 365 Cloud PC, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Dev Box. This allows users to operate a virtual desktop even on less powerful computers, as computing is handled in the cloud.
This technology resembles the capabilities of Apple Vision Pro but comes at a significantly lower price. The base Meta Quest 3S headset costs around $300, while the Vision Pro starts at $3,500.
Meta is actively investing in the AR/VR sector. Recently, the company introduced new smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Display, featuring a built-in screen, as well as the latest generation of Ray-Ban Meta.
