The Security Service and National Police have successfully uncovered an illegal arms trading network across four regions in Ukraine, resulting in 15 arrests.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service.
During a 24-hour operation, officers apprehended 15 individuals attempting to facilitate the sale of dangerous weaponry. Among the seized items were automatic rifles and grenades.
In Odesa, one individual was caught in the act attempting to sell homemade explosive devices and grenades. Almost 1 kg of explosives and several grenades were confiscated at the scene.
In the Kyiv region, four individuals were detained for trafficking trophy weapons sourced from combat zones.
Additionally, two criminal groups were dismantled in the Kyiv region, who were trying to sell a machine gun and a grenade launcher.
In Chernihiv, three members of a criminal group were arrested while looking for clients to sell automatic weapons.
In Lutsk, a local resident was detained while attempting to sell grenades. He planned to cover his tracks by demanding payment through anonymous systems. The suspects have been charged with illegal possession of firearms, facing up to seven years in prison.
