The Odesa «INDEPENDENCE HALF MARATHON»gathered over 600 participants from various regions of Ukraine and beyond.
The running route featured iconic locations in Odesa, including Primorsky Boulevard, Deribasivska, and several others.
Odesa’s Mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, welcomed the runners on the Day of Physical Culture, thanking the organizers and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for making such significant events possible.
The Mayor emphasized the importance of sports in his life, declaring a healthy lifestyle a critical priority:

The first participants included veterans and individuals with mobility impairments.
Advisor to the Mayor, Oleksiy Morozov, noted that the city is actively developing adaptive sports and rehabilitation programs.
«INDEPENDENCE HALF MARATHON» offered the following distances:
- Children's distances — from 60 m to 1 km,
- Adults — 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km.
This marathon united participants not only through sports but also through a noble cause — raising funds for the prosthetics of patients at the Odesa Superhumans Center.
