Nearly 1500 municipal service workers are on the streets of Odessa. Efforts to mitigate the effects of the storm that hit the city on September 4-5 are ongoing.
As of the morning of September 6, reports indicate that 40 trees and large branches have fallen in Odessa. Information is still coming in.
Workers from the municipal companies "Miskzelentrest" and "Housing and Communal Services" are taking turns cutting up and removing the fallen trees and branches. Priority is given to areas where fallen trees obstruct traffic or access to essential social facilities.
Specialists from the "City Roads" company are cleaning the grates of storm drains, sewage wells, and collectors. They are manually and with specialized equipment washing away sand and dirt washed onto the city streets by rainwater.
Moreover, the storm has caused damage to street lighting networks at 30 locations. Workers from "Odessmisksvitlo" are restoring these networks.
Additionally, municipal workers continue their regular operations of cleaning designated areas, collecting and removing fallen leaves and debris.
