In the heroic city of Odesa, preparations for the New Year celebrations are in full swing. Recently, municipal workers began erecting the central Christmas tree on Deribasivska Street. 

Standing 20 meters tall and 9 meters wide, the tree will traditionally be topped with a star. This year, it will be adorned with elements of Ukrainian culture and ribbons in the national colors. 

The official opening is scheduled for December 6, on St. Nicholas Day. 

«On St. Nicholas Day, the opening of the main Christmas tree and a festive concert organized by the Department of Culture will take place. Guests will enjoy performances by the Odesa Municipal Wind Music Theater and talented children from creative institutions in the city. Festive events will also occur in various municipal establishments, such as the zoo,» stated director Ivan Liptuga. 

Due to martial law, mass street celebrations are not planned for New Year’s Eve.
