In Memory of the Esteemed Veteran Mykola Leifura

At the age of 90, General-Lieutenant retired Mykola Petrovych Leifura passed away. His life was a shining example of dedication to his homeland, and for the last two decades, he was actively involved in the veterans' movement in Odessa.

Mykola Petrovych chose the honorable path of defending his country at a young age, becoming a career military officer. During his service, he commanded tank platoons, companies, battalions, regiments, and mechanized divisions. He concluded his career as the Deputy Commander of the Odessa Military District. 
He was awarded numerous medals, including orders for service to the homeland of III and II degrees, as well as orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of III and II degrees.

In recent years, Mykola Petrovych led the city council of war veterans, served as deputy chairman of the regional veterans' organization, and was a member of the Council of Veterans of Ukraine.

With his departure, an entire era comes to a close, yet his significant mission of supporting veterans will continue through the efforts of contemporary individuals.

The Mayor of Odessa, the Odessa City Council, and its executive bodies express their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mykola Petrovych.
