Changes in Fare Rates for Electric Transport in Odesa

From 2022 to 2024, many cities in Ukraine have experienced fare increases in urban electric transport despite the ongoing state of war.

The current fares for urban public electric transport in Odesa were set back in 2021. These rates have not changed, even though the costs of providing services have risen significantly.

Since 2022, changes have impacted the cost structure due to increased prices for parts and materials, necessitating a review of the fare rates.

KP «OMET» has conducted a fare calculation according to the existing tariff formation procedures.

According to the calculations, the fare for one passenger (tram, trolleybus) is set at 17.69 UAH, while the rate per kilometer is 130.732 UAH.

The alignment of these calculations with current legislation was verified by the Department of Economic Development of the Odesa City Council.

To ensure a high quality of passenger transport services, a new fare for a single ride on urban electric transport will be introduced at 15.00 UAH.

Additionally, existing discounts for students and pupils will remain intact: the fare for pupils will be 2.00 UAH, for students - 4.00 UAH.

The fare increases in public transport are expected to take effect from December 1, 2024.

Starting from December 1, the cost of passage in Odesa is planned to rise to 20 UAH within the city and to 40 UAH for routes extending to the 6th kilometer of Ovidiopol Road.
