Preparing for the Heating Season in Odesa

The municipal enterprise «Odesa City Heating Supply» is actively preparing for the 2024/25 heating season.

In light of ongoing threats to the country's energy infrastructure, reducing energy consumption has become a top priority.

As noted by Odesa's Deputy Mayor Hanna Pozdnyakova, most of the pump units at «Odesa Heat Supply» are significantly worn out and consume excessive amounts of electricity under current conditions.

Therefore, ahead of the new heating season, talks were held between the management of «Odesa Heat Supply» and the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine regarding the supply of four pumps, each with a capacity of 200 kW. The expected outcome is a reduction in energy consumption during shortages.

According to the signed Memorandum, the Swiss Embassy financed the purchase of equipment worth approximately 12 million UAH.

In early October, four anticipated pumps arrived in Odesa. Currently, the equipment is being installed at one of the facilities of "Odesa City Heating Supply", which serves over 100,000 consumers and more than 421 administrative buildings, including medical, educational, cultural, and religious institutions.

“This equipment is crucial for Odesa's heating supply. By reducing energy consumption, it will help provide heat to consumers in the central part of Odesa, especially during outages from the central power supply and while using generators,” said Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.

Odesa expresses gratitude to international partners for their continuous technical support for the city's critical infrastructure.
