A UNESCO mission led by Ms. Chiara Dece Bardski has arrived in Odessa.
The team is examining cultural heritage sites that have suffered damage due to hostile actions on November 14.
According to Ivan Liptuga, Director of the Department of Culture of the Odessa City Council, 22 architectural monuments were affected by the attack, 19 of which are located within the UNESCO heritage site.
«A special commission will convene next week to create damage reports, allowing UNESCO to provide urgent assistance», — said Ivan Liptuga.
«UNESCO condemns the violation of international law regarding attacks on cultural heritage. We are collaborating with local authorities and specialists to determine our next steps», Ms. Chiara Dece Bardski emphasized.
