New Postage Stamps Featuring Ukrainian Lighthouses

Ukrposhta has announced the release of new postage stamps featuring lighthouses from the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

This set is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series initiated in 2009, the company reported.

The release of this year’s stamps coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the State Hydrographic Service, which oversees the maintenance of Ukrainian lighthouses.

"This time, the stamps will share the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Crimean lighthouses, which, although temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine in the hearts of its people", the spokesperson at Ukrposhta explained.

The stamps feature:

  • Ay-Todor and Chaudin lighthouses in Crimea;
  • Shahansky lighthouse in Odesa region;
  • Bilozaraisky and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in Pryazovya;
  • Russian Rear lighthouse, or the Buzko-Dnipro-Lyman Canal lighthouse, in Mykolaiv region.
