Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a new peace initiative known as the «Easter ceasefire».

According to reports, Russia intends to cease all military operations from 6:00 PM on April 19 until midnight on April 21.

This move, as stated by Putin, involves «halting all hostilities» during this timeframe.

«I order the cessation of all military actions during this period. We expect the Ukrainian side to follow our example,» Putin remarked.

He also emphasized that Russian forces «must be prepared to respond to any violations of the ceasefire and provocations».

As of 5:30 PM, the Ukrainian authorities had not yet commented on this Russian initiative.
