Foreign Vessel Seized for Smuggling Stolen Ukrainian Grain

As a result of an operation conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service, a foreign vessel was detained in the Black Sea for illegally transporting Ukrainian agricultural products to third countries.

This was reported by the SBU.

According to sources, the name of the vessel is Anka.

The investigation revealed that the detained vessel was part of Russia's shadow fleet, which is used to smuggle stolen Ukrainian grain to other countries. At the end of 2024, this cargo ship transported 5,000 tons of wheat stolen from the temporarily occupied territories of southern Ukraine from the port of Sevastopol.

As reported by the Border Guard Service, to disguise the cargo's origin, the vessel sailed under the flag of one of the Asian states.

During the search on board, navigation equipment, ship documentation, and other material evidence were seized, confirming the vessel and crew's involvement in the illegal transportation scheme.

The vessel was arrested, and the crew was detained. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing.
