Last year, Odessa opened 24 rented beach areas and 2 municipal plots. 

Overall, the health season of 2024 progressed without significant issues, allowing residents and visitors to fully enjoy their time on Odessa's beaches. 

Currently, active preparations for the new season are underway along the Odessa coastline.

The requirements for beach openings remain unchanged - only those beaches that meet safety standards will be opened.

The municipal «Rescue and Diving Service of Odessa City Council» is conducting inspections and clearing the sea and beach areas of debris.

Additionally, observation and rescue posts, as well as equipment, are being prepared for operation on municipal and rented beaches. 

Along the coast, 12 shelters for safety have already been recommended.  

Furthermore, regular patrols of the coastline and monitoring of the water area are being conducted to identify suspicious objects or oil products.

This year, special attention has been given to ensuring the infrastructure of barrier-free environments on the beaches for people with disabilities and other mobility-impaired groups. Therefore, lessees are implementing measures to equip beach areas with inclusivity elements.

Further decisions regarding beach openings will be communicated after inspections by a special commission, which includes employees from the Odessa District State (Military) Administration, representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, and the Odessa City Council.
