On the night of July 18 to 19, the city was targeted in a massive attack using strike drones. As a result, residential buildings, infrastructure, and vehicles were damaged. There are casualties, including one woman who sadly did not survive despite being rescued.
Non-governmental organizations worked alongside local administrations and municipal services at the site of the incident. Support is coordinated by city council advisor Veronika Etnarovich.
The NGO “April Tenth” partnered with UNHCR to provide comprehensive assistance:
- blankets, pillows, flashlights, dishes, and other essential items,
- OSB boards,
- legal consultations for residents,
- psychological support.
The IRC also provided on-site psychological assistance.
Teams from WCK and the charity “Morning of Revival” were present from the morning, offering drinks and hot meals.
The charity “Winds of Change” distributed kits for mothers and children.
The Red Cross had been assisting the affected individuals since the night of the attack. During the day, they continued to work on-site, distributing film, tarpaulin, and first aid kits.
The “Rescue and Diving Service of the Odessa City Council” collaborated with the NGO “Dobrobat” to dismantle hazardous building elements and clear the surrounding area.
