Official Under Investigation for False Declarations

A 41-year-old woman has been charged. She faces penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment, with a restriction on holding certain positions.

The unlawful actions of the individual were uncovered by investigators from the Odesa Regional Police in collaboration with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The investigation revealed that while serving as the head of a department in the Odesa City Council, the woman intentionally submitted false information in her annual declarations for 2022 and 2023. Specifically, she failed to disclose ownership of eight plots of land, two vehicles, corporate rights in three businesses, over two million hryvnias in income, and two apartments owned by her and her son.

The total amount of hidden assets is 9 million 495 thousand 215 UAH.

Earlier this year, the official resigned from her position. Investigators have now charged her with deliberately providing false information in the declaration of a local government official, as defined by Ukrainian law, with discrepancies exceeding 500 to 2000 minimum subsistence levels potentially leading to serious consequences.

The investigation is ongoing. The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office is overseeing the proceedings.
