Mental Health Support Initiatives in Odesa Schools

Throughout September, various activities were implemented in the educational institutions of Odesa under the national mental health program "How are you?".

The initiatives focused on promoting the mental well-being of participants in the educational process.

For students, a themed mental health week titled "Friendship is the Key to a Happy Life!" was organized, along with psychological moments, emotional exercises, quests "Smile Your Way to Knowledge", and sessions on "How to Overcome Fear During Air Alerts". Children learned techniques to reduce emotional tension and cope with stress.

A competition for social videos "My Path in Life" was also held for schoolchildren, alongside dance flash mobs during "Olympic Week", training sessions, and discussions.

Educators participated in roundtable discussions on "What is Mental Health and How to Preserve It?", meetings with psychologists regarding "Children's Mental Health During War", activities in the "Safe Space" program, seminars, and lectures. These events included discussions on approaches to supporting students during these challenging times.

Consultations and practical sessions were also conducted for parents to support their children during the war.

In addition, school-wide events took place. Informational stands with QR codes for the program "How are you?" were placed in accessible locations.

To promote mental health, reduce stress, and develop resilience and self-esteem, school campaigns such as "Mood Smile", "Hugs", psychological online sessions, and individual consultations were organized for all participants of the educational process.
