Immersion into Forensics for Future Police Officers

Upcoming law enforcers had the chance to immerse themselves in the field of forensics and acquire hands-on knowledge from seasoned police officers, which will aid them in their future duties.

The meeting took place at the training and simulation center for police actions in typical and extreme situations at the Odessa Academy of Police.

Experts from the forensic support department of the Main Directorate of National Police in the Odessa region, including Tetiana Skyrtenko, Natalia Rybak, and Pavlo Apalkov, shared their insights with cadets from the department of pre-trial investigation specialists.

The officers not only discussed the nuances of their profession but also showcased the critical role of specialists during crime scene inspections. At a specially staged location, future investigators observed the process of searching for and documenting crime evidence, as well as the proper collection and packaging of physical evidence.

During the event, cadets tried on special protective suits used by police officers in their daily work, filled out fingerprint cards, and collected biological traces themselves.

The event was held in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere, with the best reward for the organizers being the genuine interest and engagement from the youth.

At the end of the meeting, the forensic specialists wished the cadets confidence, perseverance, and professional growth.
