Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the number of individuals requiring rehabilitation has been on the rise. Rehabilitation is essential after surgeries, injuries, prolonged treatments, or illnesses. The National Health Service of Ukraine emphasizes that everyone can receive free outpatient rehabilitation assistance, regardless of their place of residence.
The medical guarantees program includes providing free rehabilitation services under the package "Rehabilitation Assistance for Adults and Children in Outpatient Settings." Internally displaced persons can choose any medical facility in Kyiv that has a contract with the NHSU to provide this service. However, it is necessary to obtain an electronic referral from a family or treating physician before visiting.
To locate the nearest facilities, one can call the NHSU contact center at 16-77 or use the analytical panel on the Service's website to find information about the provision of services under the medical guarantees program at this link: https://cutt.ly/keDoF37u (select the area, locality, and package of services).
Patients can choose their rehabilitation departments and specialists based on their specializations. A complete list of outpatient rehabilitation services is available at: https://cutt.ly/ieIPVARP.
If an internally displaced person is asked to pay for services covered by the Medical Guarantees Program at a rehabilitation facility, this constitutes a violation of patient rights and the NHSU contract with the medical institution. In such cases, a complaint can be submitted regarding the violation:
- call the Service's contact center at 16-77;
- fill out an electronic form on the website – https://cutt.ly/5eb9XKbN.
