Advancements in Surgical Procedures: Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit in Odessa

The Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit at City Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Odessa employs the latest surgical technologies. Located in a newly renovated part of the hospital, this unit is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery that allows surgeons to perform operations according to European standards.

Each week, more than 40 surgical procedures are carried out here, with 80% being minimally invasive methods (such as laparoscopy and thoracoscopy). The department specializes in surgical interventions on abdominal organs, including the liver, kidneys, pancreas, as well as respiratory and reproductive systems.

Last year, the surgical team conducted over 5400 operations, including 873 trauma surgeries, 847 gynecological procedures, and 441 urological surgeries, among others.

The benefits of modern minimally invasive surgery include:
- reduced trauma: smaller incisions lead to less bleeding and pain;
- quicker recovery: patients often return to their normal lives much faster;
- improved cosmetic outcomes: smaller scars and lower risk of complications.
