A large conference focusing on modern medical aspects of rehabilitation has commenced in Odessa. The event is organized with the participation of the Odessa National Medical University and the Rehabilitation Management Association.
Over two days, leading specialists will discuss pressing issues related to rehabilitation services in Southern Ukraine, including: implementing a patient-centered approach in cluster hospitals, collaboration between medical and non-medical rehabilitation service providers, promoting adaptive sports, ensuring access to rehabilitation technologies, and providing social assistance among others.
The Director of the Odessa City Health Department, Levon Nikogosyan, spoke about the establishment of a unified rehabilitation system in the city.
Comprehensive rehabilitation involves extensive collaboration among healthcare facilities of various ownership forms, social services, sports organizations, and NGOs. Eight municipal healthcare institutions have multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams, and a dedicated department has been created within the Health Department for effective coordination.
Healthcare institutions in Odessa have signed agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine, enabling them to provide outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, as well as psychological support at no cost under the state medical guarantees program.
Odessa's medical professionals are constantly adopting best practices from Ukraine and around the world to implement cutting-edge rehabilitation technologies and methods in local healthcare facilities.
«Rehabilitation assistance is one of the most crucial aspects of today. The consequences of war for our society can only be mitigated through quality and effective rehabilitation,» emphasized Levon Nikogosyan, the director of the city's Health Department.
