In Odesa, the treatment options for cancer patients are expanding significantly.
Local hospitals have entered agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) to offer chemotherapy treatment free of charge as part of the state medical guarantees program.
At City Clinical Hospital No. 10, chemotherapy is administered to approximately 20-25 patients daily.
This service is available to residents of Odesa and other regions based on electronic referrals from doctors for patients with clinically and morphologically confirmed malignant diagnoses.
The oncology service includes oncologist consultation rooms and screening facilities, along with departments for minimally invasive surgery and endoscopy.
This integrated approach allows for modern, multifaceted care throughout all stages of diagnosis and therapy.
At City Clinical Hospital No. 1, chemotherapy is provided without charge as part of the palliative care unit's day hospital. Since the beginning of this year, around 120 patients have received treatment here.
Starting in 2025, the oncology service is developing at City Clinical Hospital No. 11, focusing primarily on treating head and neck tumors.
The Department of Health is also actively implementing comprehensive cancer prevention and early detection programs. In the first half of this year, nearly 10 thousand Odesa residents underwent cancer screening.
