Celebrating 10 Years of Rehabilitation Services at City Hospital No. 8 in Odesa

This year, the rehabilitation department of City Hospital No. 8 in Odesa celebrates its 10th anniversary. Its operations began in 2015, when rehabilitation beds were opened in one of the therapeutic departments of the hospital. Subsequently, a complete rehabilitation service and recovery treatment unit was established after a major renovation of a separate building.

The department offers both inpatient and outpatient services, focusing on treating musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, and recovery after strokes.

In the first nine months of this year, the hospital provided nearly 500 outpatient rehabilitation services, and over 200 patients successfully completed inpatient rehabilitation. All services are provided free of charge under the state medical guarantee program with a referral from a doctor.

The department is continuously updated with modern rehabilitation equipment. This year, with the support of local authorities, the hospital acquired an automatic treadmill, devices for passive limb development, and new stair-climbing simulators.

Hospital specialists regularly undergo training, participate in conferences and seminars, and collaborate with Odesa National Medical University to prepare resident doctors in the field of physical and rehabilitation medicine.

Modern equipment and ongoing professional development of medical staff enable the provision of quality rehabilitation care, which is particularly crucial in wartime conditions, as the need for medical rehabilitation of Ukraine's defenders increases.
