Once again, soldiers from the Odesa unit of the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have joined the vital project «Donor Odesa».

About twenty border guards participated in a collective blood donation, most of whom are regular blood donors. They understand how crucial it is to have a blood reserve during wartime to save the lives of their comrades, injured civilians, and everyone in need of urgent care.

«Our defense of Ukraine is not just about combat duty. It also involves being ready to extend a helping hand to those fighting for their lives in hospitals,» the border guards say.

Each blood donation can save up to three lives. Donating blood not only offers a chance of survival to someone else but is also beneficial for the donor's health, provided there are no medical contraindications.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the «Donor Odesa» project has facilitated over 14,000 blood donations for civilian and military medical facilities.

It is crucial now for every Ukrainian who is eligible to participate in blood donation.
