From February 2 to 6, 2026, Odesa will hold a Health Awareness Week focused on cancer prevention.

This event is organized with the support of the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center in honor of World Cancer Day celebrated on February 4.

During this week, everyone is invited to visit their family doctors, who will conduct preventive examinations and, if necessary, issue electronic referrals for cancer screenings, including breast ultrasound or mammography for women, PAP tests, PSA tests for men, stool tests for hidden blood, as well as fluorography or X-ray examinations of the chest organs.

To undergo free preventive check-ups, you must contact your family doctor with whom you have signed a declaration. If you don’t have a declaration, you can sign one with a family doctor at the health facility you are visiting for preventive check-ups.

Timely diagnosis allows for the detection of precancerous conditions and malignant tumors at early stages, which can be successfully treated.
