Mental Health Support Event at University

The Southern Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky hosted an event titled «Support for Mental Health. Symbols of Support». This initiative was part of the nationwide mental health program «How Are You?», launched by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health preservation and create a space for dialogue.

Over 40 participants attended in person, with more than 100 joining online. Participants included students, psychologists, educators, and activists.

Welcoming remarks were given by Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Dmytro Radulov, University Rector Andrii Kraznozhon, and regional coordinator of the «How Are You?» program Anna Velychko, emphasizing the significance of consolidating efforts in mental health and the special role of youth in building societal resilience.

The program featured a thematic quiz, interactive activities, and practical tools for mental well-being support.

The event was moderated by the head of the Mental Health Center Andrii Bortov, who shared current statistics on mental health service requests.

At the end of the event, participants engaged in a gratitude practice, creating a symbolic «Tree of Gratitude» with personal wishes and supportive messages.

The event confirmed the growing interest in mental health topics and the importance of continuing such initiatives in the region.

The implementation of the national mental health program «How Are You?» is supported by the Mental Health Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with expert support from the World Health Organization.
