Odessa artist Stepan Ryabchenko has been honored with membership in the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. This achievement is not just significant for him but also for the entire cultural community of Odessa.
His inclusion in the Academy symbolizes the recognition of digital art as a crucial part of contemporary artistic expression.
Born in 1987, Stepan Ryabchenko is a representative of a new generation of artists who explore the intersection of digital art, conceptual architecture, sculpture, light installations, graphics, and photography, striving for new forms of artistic thought and visual experimentation.
His work forms a vast artistic system where imagined creatures, metaphysical landscapes, and virtual architecture create autonomous worlds governed by their internal laws. In these worlds, the boundaries between reality and fiction, organic and digital, myth and technology dissolve.
Stepan's works have been exhibited in leading art institutions across Ukraine, including the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Art Arsenal, the Ukrainian House, the Odessa Museum of Modern Art, and many others.
His creative contributions have earned numerous accolades that underscore his impact on contemporary art at both national and international levels. In 2021, he was listed among the 15 best digital artists in the world by Electric Artefacts (UK). Among his other awards are the Art-Act prize (2010), participation in the Kyiv Sculpture Project (2012), inclusion in the Forbes Ukraine: 30 Under 30 (2015), winning the competition to create a sculptural symbol for the international airport in Odessa (2019), and being a finalist in the Tampa International Airport Public Art Project (USA, 2020). In 2022, he was awarded the Mikhail Bozhiy Prize in the category of “Monumental Art.”
We are proud of our Odessa native's achievements!
